Here we are, 2010 and looking forward to a great year. I hope everyone has had a great Holiday season maybe Santa has saw fit to bring you a new set of Hoosiers or a few extra gallons of Methanol :) one would only hope.
2010 is shaping up to be a great year for the Micros in our area, we have some great racers who have joined last season and will be back with us for 2010 with new cars and renewed enthusiasm. Our schedule will mainly consist of racing at GMP again although. as with 2009 we ended up racing at a few different tracks and had a blast doing it, I'm not sure exactly what our monthly schedule will look like but I would like to open up the forum to our members and asking what their prepared to do as far as traveling and the amount of races in the 2010 season. first off is the Winter Nationals in Florida, Bill the track owner at Sumter has posted a schedule of events on microracing.coms forum section here is the post ( HERE ). if you can make it its a great show and we always have a blast.
There is a 250 class is Florida that has quite a few cars racing ( 13-16 ) what looks like only Saturday, these cars are the same as a 270 only the engine is a stock bore and stroke. there have been a few northerners that expressed interest in attending but the exact car count will be a crap shoot. I've attended every Winternationls since 2004 and by Feb. I'll be ready to hit the track in one form or fashion. I do plan on having a 250 motor available or 270 whichever is needed to make a good field.
2010 At GMP will consist of racing twice a month GMP and 3 extra races at GMP ( March 13th ), Flomaton ( May 29th ) Minge ( Sept 4th ) for their firestone series also there are tracks and events that are likely to pop up in 2010 i.e.. Why, Flomaton, Wilsons, Minge ect. I'd like to open up a discussion in the forum about what our schedule should look like and what everyone would like to do for 2010. click on the "Discussion Forum" on the left and GOTO 2010 Schedule to weigh in.
In the off season there are a few things that are a must for getting your car back on track without issues, mainly dealing with the fuel and hoses, suspension is very important too with greasing up all the joints and bars. if you have questions feel free to ask in the forum so that we all can be better prepared for the start of the season.
Hope all is doing well, good luck in 2010.
